Jericho Main Street Set

These are pictures of my visit to Jericho Main Street. First picture is of the guard who called to get permission for myself, sister and niece to come in. Notice he is wearing one of our RFJ buttons. When he called, they asked who we were with - Radio Free Jericho - and we got in.

You all know the places so I won't describe. We had free access to wander around and take pictures. And they said, come back anytime.... lol, so I am thinking I might make another trip.

I have new respect the film-makers of Jericho. It is hard setting up a camera to get the shot and not have reflections from the store windows of yourself or what is behind you.

Again - many many thanks to the guards and who ever granted permission. It was just so awesome to be standing there. The one guard was new and had not seen the show. So as we walked I talked about why Jericho was so special. And he was surprised that I knew each building and things that had happened there. He promised to watch and I think we may have a new fan.

Dear Maybei, please know how much you have lighted my heart. I have just about given up hope for a season 3 of Jericho. I did not know that the sets were still intact. Do you take this as a sign that there is still hope for a season 3?
:hearts: :thanks:

How cool...I'm giddy!

You didn't happen to pocket a small souvinier(sp)? Small rock? Leaf? Letter from the Jennings and Rall front?

Just kidding. I'm sure they wouldn't let ya back if Bailey's sign was missing huh?

Thank you for sharing....once again I'm living vicariously through your wonderful adventures, Maybei.

Jess :thanks:

Wow, those are terrific pictures, May. I am very much encouraged to see the sets still in tact, even if it doesn't really mean anything. How great that just the name RFJ got you inside like that. We must be seriously infamous!!!

lol and yes I did get a small souvenir. When we got in the car to leave, my niece handed me a leaf. She is such a sweetie.

When I got married one of my neighbors included in her gift leaves she'd taken from the street I'd grown up on, spray-painted gold. It was a nice little memento. Of course they haven't made it all these years... :smiling:

Wow, great photos! I'm glad the sets are still up. They look really good. I know they are just facades but they look pretty realistic. It must have felt so strange to see the little town all empty. Almost post-apocalyptic! :unknowncomic:

Oh how cool!!! So glad that you were able to go in and look around!! Yes, a big thank you to the guard and whoever it was he talked to that gave him permission to let you in! Silly as it may sound, this does renew my hope that there is still a chance our wonderful show will see new life!!

Today I went to Carol Barbee's office to deliver the fan thank-you booklets. Remember when everyone posted a thank - you to the writers? Ka4ist and I had them made into a booklet and had one printed for each writer. :smiling: And they will be delivered to the writers from Carol.

So...... ok, we got a special tour of the set and offices. I did not take pictures of private offices but Jericho was in evidence everywhere. I was able to sign the wall in Baileys where all the Jericho folks had signed.

Image

I have pictures of the Bailey tavern set - behind the bar and more set pictures. Promise I will get them up very soon for you.

What I do want to tell you all now is this...

I was asked not to say who told me - but was told I could report that negotiations are ongoing. They are hopefull. All of the sets are ready to go - not just the town, the inside sets as well. They have NOT given up and they appreciate all of us hanging in there.

(and before anyone gives me grief over this - the news was not from the guard, allthough he did said to tell you all hi :) as I came into the office area for Jericho and Swingtown - the news was from a highly reliable inside source - and that is all I am going to say - thank you for your understanding)
