This question was carried over from Episode 4 because we didn't get any responses by the recording time :(

What is your favorite Season One episode, and why? If you've already answered this question, somewhere else on the boards, what is your second favorite and why? Answers will be read on Episode 5 of the podcast :)

AKA is my favorite because we learn Hawkins backstory. But One if By Land is also a favorite because of the the "beard off" between Johnston and Constantino. Also too - loved the walk home in the middle of the night, Great scene!!

They were all good!

All of them were totally good. That's why we are here, right?

I have such a hard time picking a favorite, but 'Heart of Winter' really did seal the deal for me. Don't get me wrong, I was 'in' right from the start, but it was this episode, and the ones after that really made me think that this was an A-one, quality show. We got such a nice reveal of some of our favorite characters stories, and who could resist Jake, Stanley and Mimi all together in the close confines of a classic pick-up cab?

I'm gonna have to nominate 'Long Live the Mayor' as my second favorite. And I think the posters here can guess why.

It is so hard to choose, but I pick Why We Fight. it shows the back story of the marvelous Green family, and Johnston's death scene with Jake and Eric makes me teary every time. It is seldom you see such emotional interaction among men, and I just loved Johnston's parting words to both his sons, as he tried to soothe them while he was dying.

I think Why We Fight too. Although picking your favorite episode is like picking your favorite child.

Hee! :smiling:

I don't have kids, but I like this analogy.

Coalition of the Willing

Reasons:
1. The siege/guerrilla part of the action was actually more interesting to me than the battle sequences of the following episode.
2. This was probably one of the few episodes where Emily's real character got a chance to shine
3. The conflict between Johnston and Gray finally came to a head, and the part where every draws guns on each other in Gray's shelter is a very powerful scene
